This product really does stay warm for 12 hours. I even use it for myself. The one thing that I found with this product is that it has a little nob that they don't show you in the pictures. I have two small dogs. One showed no desire to bite or play with it. The other destroyed the felt cover. Then started to chew on the nob and broke it. The contents then leaked out. Even so I just purchased two more. JUST an FYI for those of you that have dogs that enjoy to chew things.
